So, I finally have a WIP Wednesday post! As I get caught up from some health/disability stuff that flared up over the weekend, I'm back, and oh, look, I'm actually writing WIP Wed posts again?
These are the Birthday Socks. I finished one sock a bit ago, and, I'm still working on the second. Are we surprised it's not done yet? No.
Pattern is my Luckenbach Socks pattern - This was the August Knit-Along pattern so that I'd actually have a hope of finishing these socks on time, and no, it didn't work, as you can clearly see! They're knit in The Knitting Loft's Boots Sock Yarn in "Kelly Green". My giftee chose the colours and I'm really thrilled with how they're turning out - and I've been getting compliments on the colour too! I can't take credit, though, my giftee is the one who picked the colour.
These were worked on the Chiagoo Red Lace Circulars, and I'm still impressed at the lack of kinks that have formed in the cable of these circulars. They've been jammed rather unceremoniously in project bags and in a backpack, and they're still perfectly usable. If these had been my old Aero needles, I'd be swearing a lot more!
The stitch market is a Silver Rose Charm from *NotionsEmporium, and, it being a locking stitch marker makes it great for working in the round, since I don't have to worry about it sliding all along the cable of the circulars - I can just clip it into the work a row or two below and it's good to go. Occasionally I have to remember to bring it up after about an inch or so, but it's still far easier then having a ring marker slipping along the loops of the Magic Loop!
I'm getting closer and closer to the heel of this sock, so, here's hoping I can have them done soon, since they've taken a lot longer to do then I would have initially liked. But, I think that's the curse of a lot of gift-knitting, right?
