Hello, and welcome back, once again to WIP Wednesday; and I've finished one Impossible Geometry Sock and am on the heel of the second! As I mentioned a few weeks ago, yes, I am knitting these using Magic Loop, so, theoretically, I could knit them two-at-a-time, but, well. . . . my last two-at-a-time sock knitting adventure was an unmitigated disaster of tangles, tears, and profanity, so, I have no desire to do that again!  Huge kudos to all you folks who can knit socks two (or more!) at a time, but I'll stick to one at a time and keep myself slightly more sane!

I actually got a good bit done on these over the weekend - I usually take them to my Dungeons and Dragons Group (I call it that even though we actually play other role-playing games, as well - this particular campaign is a Rogue Trader campaign set in the universe of Warhammer 40K, and it's proving to be a lot of fun!)

The advantage of this stitch pattern is that it's pretty easy to remember, and, assuming I can bring the socks up closer to my eyes for ease of manipulation, I can do the cables without a cable needle. (If I have to keep the socks away from my face, like when I'm filming, I struggle a lot more with doing the 1 over 4 cable without cable needle - I find it too easy to miss a stitch!)  So it's perfect knitting for moments when I'm not 'in scene,' because I have something to occupy my hands, but I can still listen so I know whats going on with other players and the story.  I also took these with me as Travel Knitting when I and a number of friends travelled to Fort Erie, Ontario, to see the Solar Eclipse in totality - but I had such good company  on the trip there that I never pulled my knitting out of my bag (though I did geek out with a fellow knitter-person, which is always nice!)
a sock knit in deep teel yarn, with the stitches of the heel turn live on a circular needle. A stitch marker with a silver shell is at the back of the heel.

The yarn is *Malabrigo Ultimate Sock in "Teal Feather", kindly given to me by Malabrigo Yarns as part of the Malabrigo Quickies program. I'm actually quietly amazed - the difference in stretch between the *Ultimate Sock and the BFL sock yarn I did my initial prototype in continues to amaze me!  I mean, somewhat obviously, there's a difference between Merino and BFL yarn, but I didn't think it would impact the stretch of the fabric as much as it has!

Needles are my *Knit Picks Nickle-plated 2.25 mm circulars, and I'm loving the cord on these for Magic Loop.  I've had far, far too many needle sets where the cord was too stiff to loop easily, but these?  These are great!  Even when I have more stitches on the needle because of the gusset decreases, I've never had a problem making Magic Loop work with these needles!

Stitch marker is the  *Ocean Shell Stitch Marker from *WineMakersSister's Etsy Shop.  It's a lobster claw, which makes it versatile (and means you can use it for Crochet!), but now that I've got my beginning/end of round at the centre back of the heel, I don't have to worry about it slipping off my needles any more.  Since it's just a lobster claw clasp, it wouldn't fit over larger needles, but it's just fine on the 2.25 mm circulars!

So that's my progress, what's yours?  Feel free to show it off in the comments, or, on the Discord! (And if you've made no progress on your WIP's and wish to commiserate, that's fine too!)
