A second WIP Wednesday post in as many weeks? Have I finally figured out the art of scheduling blog posts?
. . . Probably not, but I'm going to try!
The Birthday Socks are continuing nicely, and I'm now working on the heel flap of Sock Number Two.Pattern is my Luckenbach Socks pattern. It's taking longer then a 'standard' sock, since these are knee-highs (my giftee asked for knee-highs as winter can get quite cold here!) They're knit in The Knitting Loft's Boots Sock Yarn in "Kelly Green". I can't take credit for the colour, as my giftee picked it, but, I actually quite like it as well!
Needles are Chiagoo Red Lace Circulars, and I'm always impressed at the cords on Chiagoo Fixed circulars. They really are non-kinking and it's always quite wonderful to not have to deal with all that.
The stitch marker is a Silver Rose Charm from *NotionsEmporium. I don't have it on the needle, since I'm working these with Magic Loop, so the stitch marker would just flop about on the cable and annoy me. Sometimes, I don't need a stitch marker for my beginning/end of round when I'm working magic loop, but, after a few mix ups as to which side of the leg I was on, I clipped it in to remind me!
Honestly, the heel and foot should, comparatively speaking, be a much faster knit. Not only do I no longer have to keep track of decreases, but, I also have far fewer stitches on the needle! The size I'm working on casts on 112 stitches, but, by this point in the pattern, I've decreased down to 64 stitches total (32 for the heel flap). So the second half of the sock should go much faster than the first half, I hope! Considering these are now a belated Birthday knit, I'll take any help I can get in the matter!
Anyway, here's hoping I can finish these up and get back to some other languishing samples and new ideas!
