I'm back with something a little different, this time for Free Pattern Friday - that is, I'm working on a Sunshine Throw Blanket for KNITMuch, and, while the blanket isn't done yet, the pattern is free, so, I figure it counts! (Does this also count as the WIP Wednesday post that I've missed, again? 😅)
Short version: I had oodles of Mystical Marl yarn left over after finishing the Holland Cowl. so, figured that a blanket pattern would be a great way to use up the rest of the yarn! After a bit of sleuthing, I found the Sunshine Throw Blanket pattern, and, a little while later, I cast on!The Sunshine Throw blanket calls for one colour, but, I'm striping it with two colours of Mystical Marl - Lagoon, and Midnight (huge thanks to KNITMuch for this bounty of yarn, you'll be able to read the full saga of knitting this blanket over on their blog very soon!)
The pattern calls for a 5 mm Needle, but I've gone down to a 4.5 mm circular needle for this one; and I'm glad I did - and you definitely want a longer cable to hold your stitches for this pattern - it is a blanket, after all! The pattern also suggests adding in some stitch markers, but, I found the stitch pattern simple enough that I didn't need to - though I do have to stop putting yarn over stitches in the wrong place!
I'm working my way nicely along on this blanket and hopefully I'll have it all finished soon - if I'm really organized, maybe it will make a WIP Wednesday post, too! And if you want to see me knit it live? Join me over on Youtube for my studio livestream on Fridays!
