It's WIP Wednesday, and the Lace Backpack still continues!  It's been my 'transit knitting', with the world opening back up a bit and places dropping their virtual options, so, I've been able to get some rows in on this too.   I want to get this finished, as I do have other projects in the wings (including an upcoming commissioned knit that the yarn is in the mail for, plus a second sample of the BrickWorks Socks, for the wonderful folks at the *Knit Picks Independent Designer Program!)
a column of reverse stocking stitch, with cabled lace on either side. It's knit in a variegated blue-grey fingering weight yarn, and three sea glass stitch markers are on the circular needle cord at the top of the work
So, a few changes as I've worked. I originally planned to have the front of the side pockets be the same lace as the body of the bag; but, I changed my mind, and I'm going to work them in ribbing, instead.  This will make picking up and joining the sides of the pockets easier and a bit neater, and, it will  also make them 'hug in' a bit, so that there's no risk of stuff like water bottles falling out of the pockets!  (Sorry for the not-so-great photograph today -  we're in a thunderstorm warning as  I type, and the sky is quite dark.  My craft lamp is not the best for photography light!)

Yarn is Tanis Fiber Arts PureWash Fingering, in a one-of-a-kind colourway called "Cloudy". I'm -still- alternating my skeins, (I've only got a teeny bit left of my first skein),  which was a real pain on the subway!  But, the bag is big enough now that it is it's own project bag, so the two balls of yarn live inside the bag in progress (very convenient for knitting on the bus!)

Needles are my 4mm *Lykke Interchangable needles.  I still definitely prefer longer needle tips, don't think that's ever changing, but; I do really enjoy the feel of the wood.  I really want to give the *Lykke Fixed Circular Needles a try - maybe I'll sneak a pair into my next order.

Stitch markers are a *Sea Glass Set from *WineMakersSister's Etsy Shop, and they're bearing up well as 'transit knitting' too, because there's no risk of the clasps accidentally releasing in my bag (it's happened once with earring-backs style stitch markers, but can't happen with these ones!)

And I still don't have a name for this pattern.  So I've put the question to the Pattern Muses on Patreon: can you help me name this pattern?
