Yep, It's a busy month for test-knits!  And, the next test knit in the box is the Pine Cone Gloves! I just got the test-knit call posted over on Yarnpond, so please, if you're interested in testing a pair of fingering-weight gloves, please, go check it out!

a person wearing a glove knit in blue fingering-weight yarn - the hand and cuff of the glove are done in a textured knit and purl pattern.

Sample  is shown in size XS, with 4 adult sizes available.  Wrist Circumference measures 6 (7.5, 9, 10.5) inches, (15, 19, 23 26.5) cm, and the finger and thumb length are adjustable to measurments.

Yarn here is the (now discontinued)  Stitch Please Amethyst Label in "Cobalt" (actually, this yarn is leftovers of the Mosaic Hat!), but there's a second sample-in-progress, as well, done in *Knit Picks Twill Fingering in "Patchwork Heather", which is also recommended in the pattern.  Any fingering-weight wool or wool blend yarn should work up well, and an acrylic or acrylic blend would also suit nicely.  I wouldn't recommend tonal or multi-colour yarn though, as I suspect it would get lost in the stitch pattern (or, the stitch pattern would get lost in the yarn.   (If you as a tester, really want to try it, though, by all means!)

Needles are 2 mm HyiaHyia needles - I knit the sample on double-pointed needles, but please, if you're applying as a tester, you can knit the sample using any method you like, the pattern is written to be 'needle agnostic.'

I'm looking for 16 testers across 4 sizes, including an Adult Large size of 10.5 inches (26.5 cm) hand circumference (related, a question, would it make more sense if I labeled that size as extra large, as it does go beyond the largest size listed in the Craft Yarn Council Standards?) And I'm hoping that testers can test both  the charted stitch pattern and the written instructions.

I'm also specifically looking for testers to test the large-print/screen reader accessible version of this pattern! So if that's something you're willing/able to do, just make a note of that on your Yarnpond application, and I'll send you the link to the large print pattern.  Please note, that you only have to finish one sock for the test, as left and right gloves  are identical.

To test, you will need to make a Yarnpond account (you do need to sign up if you haven't before, but, don't worry, it's free, all you need is an e-mail address!) From there, you can link your Instagram and Ravelry accounts, if you have either. And, for those who can't use Ravelry, please, don't worry, you don't have to have a Ravelry account to participate -- I just need somewhere I can see some examples of your work, so Instagram, or even a blog, is perfect!

Deadline for the test is April 30, 2022, and sadly, this deadline can't really be flexible.  But, as always, testers who complete the test will receive the finished pattern for free, as well as two patterns of their choice from my self-published patterns.

If you want to be notified about future testing calls, I post testing calls here on the blog, and to my other social media platforms (FacebookPatreonInstagramTwitter, and a shiny new Discord Server!), and, I'll send out calls to those on my mailing list, as well, so hopefully, anyone who's interested will see my testing calls.

And if you know someone else who might be interested, please, as always feel free to share this post with them! I don't usually fill my pattern tests, so, the more testers the better!
