When I started writing this post, I went 'uh oh, I  don't think I have another current WIP that I can show,  now that the Fireside Mitts are done and waiting for blocking!'   Then I realized, that yes, yes, I do!

Previously on Twitch, I was working on a second sample for the Cosmic Crochet Cowl.  And as that sample got set aside (since the Fireside Mittens needed to be finished for the Pattern Muses on Patreon), I'd completely forgotten about it!

Someone crocheting a crochet cowl in a shell star stitch, with variegated yarn. There is a stitch marker with a shell charm clipped into the work.
But now that the Mitts are finished (I'm hoping to get them up for FO Friday this week!), I realized that this has become my next shareable WIP!  I've got another WIP that I am working on, but it's for a magazine submission, so, once again, I can't share it (yet).  But, I have this cowl and it's awesome yarn!

Speaking of the yarn, its from the wonderful and amazing LoonyLoomworks.  They're a weaver, spinner and yarn fiber person over on Twitch, and they make amazing stuff!  I was lucky enough to win this yarn as a prize during one of their charity streams, and it's absolutely gorgeous!

Hook is the same hook I was using on the mittens - It's my 3.5 mm (US E)  hook from Leither Co.  I wouldn't have bought it, but I won it back on the Yarn Thing Podcast ages ago (looks like the podcast has shut down now, sadly); and that gave me a chance to try it out, and I'm quite impressed!  I'm skeptical of the larger-handled hooks, as a lot of crochet hooks tend to cause my hands to cramp, but this one?  Nope!  Only downside of  it or this particular pattern is that it's got the shorter shaft, and when you've got seven loops on the hook it can get a bit much.

Stitch marker is a *Shell Stitch Marker from *WineMakersSister's Etsy Shop.  As I mention often (because it's a mistake I see new crocheters make), you absolutely need a locking stitch marker for crochet.   The ring stitch markers, as pretty as they might be, just don't work for crochet, only knitting.

And now, I've got to finish typing and rescue my darning egg from a cat who thinks it's a toy. (The joys of knitting with pets in the house!)  So, happy crafting, everyone!
