Welcome back to WIP Wed! And, the Christmas Knitting continues!
Welcome back to WIP Wed! And, the Christmas Knitting continues!
These are a start to the Dragon Scale Gloves. which are based on the same motif as my Silver Dragon Cowl, and they're going to be a Christmas Present! I would be further, except that I had to unravel back a good bit to fix some mistakes (you can see that debacle on Twitch, if you like)!
The gloves will be mirrored, like many of my mitten/glove designs are. I like having the slipped-stitch palm, both for texture and for durability. (This does mean, however, that I must pay attention, or risk knitting two right handed mittens and no left-hand mittens, (this has happened before. . .)
Yarn is the now-discontinued Fleece Artist Merino 2/6 in "Spruce" that has been in my stash for a bit now. It's 100% Merino, and it's knitting up quite nice and dense on *2mm (US 0) needles. It is a bit of a 'sticky' yarn, as evidenced by the frogging, but, otherwise it's working up well!
The stitch markers are *Sea Glass Stitch Markers from *WineMakersSister's Etsy Shop. In a break from my usual tradition, these are not lobster claw stitch markers, but instead are solid metal rings that slip over the needles. However, because these metal rings are solid, there's no risk of the yarn snags that can sometimes happen with jump rings (or, even lobster claw stitch markers)!
So yes, the holiday knitting continues, and I might actually finish! How goes your knitting over this holiday season? Sound off in the comments!
