Well, welcome back to WIP Wed,

The Marianna Shawl continues to grow!  I'm still working on drafting the set-up chart so that everything aligns properly, but it is still growing!   I'll be knitting it over on Twitch for the next little while, and it's planned as the Q2 Pattern Release for the Pattern Muses over on Patreon. Despite it being a scrunched up mess, I promise, it's actually going to be a big square shawl. with a textured edging and border. I still have a tentative release planned for April/May, and I shall see how productive I am (and how long this takes when the rounds get super-long!)

Knit lace in a wooden yarn bowl. The lace is live on a circular needle and scrunched up within the bowl. There are flat disc stitch markers hanging from the needle.

Yarn is *Knit Picks Gloss Lace in "Marina", which is a lace-weight 70% Merino and 30% silk. The colour is discontinued, but Gloss Lace is still available, and it's a wonderful yarn to work with.  So far, no pilling or splitting, despite having to do some frogging and tinking.  I had trouble photographing it true-to-colour  -- the previous post's photography is far more true to the colour of the yarn.  I'll blame the really grey weather today for that one.

Needles are 16-inch circular 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, and I honestly don't know who the manufacturer is.  I originally hought they were *HiyaHiya Needles, but usually there's information stamped on the cord or on the needles, and here, there's nothing. I will want to go to a circular with a longer cable, eventually, but for now it's working out.

The stitch pattern is actually based on the work of the wonderful Naomi Parkhurst of Gannet Designs!  I'm really glad that she's willing to allow her stitch patterns to be used by designers with no fuss (stitch patterns themselves aren't copyright, but the photos and text that's used are, and that can be a headache). She's opened up her wonderful creations to all, which is think is amazing.

Stitch Markers are from *Fibremancy, and I got them at the Barrie Fiber Festival back in August.  There's two different sets marking my pattern repeats (I originally was only marking the quarters of the shawl, but I found that I need to mark each pattern repeat to help keep me from making mistakes!)

Well, I think that's it for this week's WIP Wed, and thanks for reading along!

And, as always, I'd love to see what you're working on -- please, feel free to post links to your projects in the comments, so I can see all the amazing things. Also, if you're working on one of my patterns, tag it as #sarahdawnsdesigns so I can find you on Social Media!
