So I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that the Ice Cream Sundae Socks now have a new sample thanks to the wonderful folks at Biscotte Yarns!

The new sample is knit in PatricKnits Merica in the colourway “YOLO” and, you can get both pattern and yarn as part of a kit from Biscotte yarns! Or, you can still get the pattern on it's own at the various usual places, like my Web Shop, Etsy, or Ravelry. (Patrons, you can download the pattern on Patreon, too!)
Now, onto the pattern details!
These socks were the result of playing with yarn and stitch dictionaries. I wanted a stitch pattern that would show off variegated yarn and keep it from being 'ugly'. The Ice Cream Sundae Socks were the result!
The (new!) sample was knit using a single skein of PatricKnits Merica, a 100% untreated merino Rambouillet wool. If you are substituting yarn, any Merino/Nylon or wool Sock Yarn will work up well. This pattern is designed to help break up repeats of highly variegated yarn, but solid, tonal, and gradient yarns will also be beautiful in these socks.
These socks are knit from the cuff-down, with either 2 mm *double-pointed needles or 2 mm *circular needles and the Magic Loop method. They use a heel flap and gusset heel, with a slip-stitch heel flap for additional durability. The instructions are written; the lace pattern is both charted and written. This pattern also has an accessible large print option that is compatible with screen-reading software. This option includes only the written instruction.
Instructions are given for two sizes, Adult Small and Large, with a leg circumference: 6.5 (8) inches / 16.5 (20.5) cm. The leg and foot length are adjustable.
And, as a final fun announcement, there will be a pattern updating coming soon with all the new yarn info, photography, and a French translation (thanks again, Biscotte Yarns!) but, the pattern itself won’t be changing, it’s just the sample and recommended yarn that will change. If you've bought the pattern on Ravelry or in the Web Shop, you'll get an e-mail when the pattern updates - if you've bought on Etsy, just check back with the pattern listing to see if it's been updated!
