Welcome back to another test-knitting call; right now, I'm looking for testers for the Textured Diamonds Hat pattern (tangent: if you've got title ideas for this pattern, please, let me know in the comments, because I'm struggling to find an interesting title for this one!)
Photography: Stephanie Wallace
This hat started out of a search for a simple, reversible hat pattern that wasn't only plain ribbing. I played around with knits and purls, and this hat was the result!
Made up almost entirely of knit and purls, the most complicated thing you have to do in this pattern is purl two together through the back loop -- and don't worry if that sounds scary, there's a tutorial link right in the pattern if you need it!
The pattern comes in 3 adult sizes, ranging from a 20 inch to a 24 inch finished circumference (51 to 60 cm). Since the pattern is designed to fit with about 2 inches of negative ease, the final finished fit ranged between 22 to 26 inches.
Sample is shown in *Berroco Vintage in "White", which is 52% Acrylic, 40% Wool, and 8% Nylon. Any acrylic or acrylic/wool blend would work up well for this hat!
I'm looking for 12 testers for this hat across the three sizes, so, four testers for each size. I'm also specifically looking for testers to test the large-print/screen reader accessible version of this pattern! So if that's something you're willing/able to do, just make a note of that on your Yarnpond application, and I'll send you the link to the large print pattern.
To test, you will need to make a Yarnpond account (you do need to sign up if you haven't before, but, don't worry, it's free, all you need is an e-mail address!) From there, you can link your Instagram and Ravelry accounts, if you have either.
And, for those who can't use Ravelry, please, don't worry, you don't have to have a Ravelry account to participate - if you're a new tester, I just need somewhere I can see some examples of your work, so Instagram, or even a blog, is perfect!
Deadline for the test is March 31, 2026 and as usual, my testing dates can usually be extended if there's a need, so don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you're going to have trouble meeting the deadline. And, as always, testers who complete the test will receive the finished pattern for free, as well as two patterns of their choice from my self-published patterns.
If you want to be notified about future testing calls, the best place to be is in my testing group over on Yarnpond! Folks there will get notified automatically when I post a new test (and there's no requirement to test anything - test only what you want to test!) I also post testing calls here on the blog, and to my other social media platforms (Facebook, Patreon, Instagram, Tumblr, and a Discord Server!), as well as sending out calls to those on my mailing list, as well, so hopefully, anyone who's interested won't miss a testing call!
And if you know someone else who might be interested, please, as always feel free to share this post with them!
