I'm back with FO Friday, this time with some finished Christmas Knitting - the Woodland Hat is done only a few days after Christmas!

The recipient of said hat has worn the old one for 10 years worth of Canadian winters, and it's finally died an ignoble death and could no longer be patched! So, a new hat was requested, and it became a Christmas Gift!
The longest part of this project was the two-colour fisherman's rib - the actual cables came together superbly fast. The ribbing spread out much more then I expected with a wash and block, so, I -might- have to put a couple of tacking stitches in it if my giftee requests such - just to keep it from flopping away. It's a modification from the original pattern, but, I think I like how it turned out!
Yarn is *Cascade Yarns 220 in "Christmas Green" and "Black" and it's one of the rare times in my life where I've had a yarn dye bleed on me, badly. I've worked with Cascade Yarn's 220 before, and had no issues, so I didn't think to wash my swatch (I usually don't wash my swatches unless I suspect there might be trouble, but Cascade 220 is not a 'trouble' yarn for me!)
But, my hands were dyed blue, and the wash-water is still running blue-green. (I'm really, really glad the other colour of this hat is black, so I don't have to worry about it!) I've warned my giftee, and we'll see what happens when it's worn. I'm hoping it will stop bleeding with a second wash, but, we shall find out!
The needles I used were a set of *3.5 mm circulars. I started on a set of 4.5 needles for the body of the hat, but quickly realized that the hat was going to be far, far too big. 3.5 mm got me the right stitch gauge, even if my row gauge was a but shorter.
And, as a bonus move, it only took me a few days after Christmas to get this hat finished! (I suspect many of you can relate!)
