I have a goal, which is, to get out skating this winter.  I don't get out skating too often, despite there being a public rink pretty close to me, and this winter, with a nudge from some friends, I hope to change that.  But, what does that have to do with knitting?

Skate socks.  Heavy socks that are made to go inside winter boots and skates, and the Statement Cabled Socks fit the bill - hence, why the Statement Cabled Socks are the October Knit-Along!

Don't have the pattern?  That's not a problem, the Cabled Statement Socks pattern is 50% off for the Knit-Along, right through the month of October.  You can get the pattern in my Web Shop, Etsy, Ravelry, and Patreon.  And patrons already have access to the pattern, you can download it in the Patreon Shop

The Statement Cabled Socks are specifically designed to be;beautiful heavy socks, perfect for cold winter weather or for participating in winter sports (hence the 'skating socks')  And if you want to match, you can wear them with the Statement Cabled Scarf, too!

The socks are knit cuff down with a slipped-stitch heel flap and grafted toe. The cable instructions are both charted and written. The pattern comes in multiple adult sizes; and is further adjustable to your own foot for a proper fit!

The sample was knit in size Small with two skeins of a Worsted-Weight Finn/Gotland/BFL blend from All Sorts Acre Farms. As this yarn is not readily commercially available, I'd suggest Briggs & Little Tuffy for a commercially available substitute that may be available online or in your local yarn shop. For other substitutions, I'd suggest a Worsted or Aran weight multi-ply wool, or a wool/nylon blend
designed for heavy socks (sometimes labeled 'boot socks').

Now, onto the important part, the Knit-Along Details!

For the month of October every finished pair of socks has a chance to win a $25 USD Gift Card from Knit Picks, or, a $30 CAD Gift Card from The Knitting Loft!  This choice is due to the Canada/US tariff situation; when I contact the winner, I'll ask them which shop they would prefer.

Please note that the Knit Picks gift card is, unfortunately, only available if you are in the US or Canada.
