January Knit-Along and Pattern Sale: MacAskill Scarf

Welcome to January (and it's 2025 - it feels like only yesterday it was 2019!).  This month, since it's already been so grey and dull here, I really felt the need for something cozy and comforting, so, the knit-along and sale pattern for the month of January is the MacAskill Scarf!

"Striding through the damp and windy winter moors, even the largest Scotsman in recorded history, “Black Angus” MacAskill, would have welcomed this giant scarf. Big enough to reach your ears while wrapped around your neck, deep enough to make a hood thrown over your head, and bulky enough to keep you warm no matter how you wear it."

The MacAskill Scarf is a large rectangular scarf knit flat, with a large cable motif and seed stitch border.

 The sample is shown in *Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Superwash Bulky in "Fjord Heather" If looking to substitute yarn, any aran/bulky weight wool will substitute well, or, you can knit with sport or dk-weight held double.

 This pattern has both charted and written instructions, as well as an accessible large print option that is compatible with screen-reading software. This option includes only the written instruction.
