Welcome to February and the (very tentative) start of warmer weather?  But, even wtih the days getting longer and the weather not quite so bitterly cold, you (or I, at least) still need something covering my hands - but, these Convertible Mittens can do exactly what the name suggests!  For the cold days, they're a warm pair of mittens.  For the not-quite-so-cold days, they flip up and let you use your fingers with at least a little more dexterity!   And, as the February Knit-Along pattern, they're on sale for 50% off starting February 1rst!

Don't worry, if you don't have the pattern, it's 50% off through the month of February during the Knit-Along!

The convertible Cable Mittens are basically just what they sound like, a set of densely knit mittens done in Aran-weight yarn, designed to stand up to a Canadian winter, but also leave the fingers free for texting, using car keys, or all those other fiddly tasks that are near-impossible in standard mittens!

The mitts are knit from the cuff to the tip, with the mitten flap picked up across the back of the hand. The slipped-stitch palm helps provide warmth, traction, and durability to the mitten; while the cables up the back provide a dash of style to a functional and durable mitten.

The blue  sample is shown in the now-discontinued Blue Sky Fibers Worsted Hand Dyes, while the Green Sample is shown in *Knit Picks Muse Aran in "Rooted" If looking to substitute yarn I'd suggest a cable-plyed wool blend with a good bit of loft - or, you can find alternatives on Yarnsub!

This pattern has both charted and written instructions, as well as an accessible large print option that is compatible with screen-reading software. This option includes only the written instruction.
