October Featured Pattern and Knit-Along: Snowdrop Lace Cowl

And we're into October (I swear, every time I blink it's a new month!)  We're actually starting to need jackets and light scarves in the evening now; and it's the perfect time to cozy up with a super-squishy cowl - hence why October's Featured Pattern is the Snowdrop Cowl.

This cowl was created as part of the Initiate Knit Design Challenge, hosted by Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits. The goal of the challenge was to help people get their design ideas off the ground, and this super-bulky lace and cable cowl was the result!

The cowl is worked in the round, with garter stitch edging and the Snowdrop Cable and Lace Pattern forming the body of the cowl. 

The yarn used in the pattern is Blue Sky Fibers Bulky, which is 50% alpaca, 50% wool (and really helps with the 'squish' factor of the cowl!) For yarn substitutions, since Blue Sky Fibres Bulky is a bit hard to find now, I'd suggest either *Knit Picks Wonderfluff, or *Malabrigo Rasta

 This pattern has both charted and written instructions, as well as an accessible large print option that is compatible with screen-reading software. This option includes only the written instruction.
