Welcome back to FO Friday, and, today is something a little different!  I get to show off a FO that I don't think I shared here before.  Here's the finished Heritage Tweed Vest, published in the August 2024 issue of I Like Knitting!

Yes, I've been keeping this one under wraps for a bit, and now I get to finally share it - my first garment pattern is -finally- live!

The Heritage Tweed Vest is a versatile, unisex pattern designed for bulky yarn, making it a super-cozy layering piece perfect for cooler weather. This vest can be dressed up with a collared shirt for the office or paired with a casual shirt for a relaxed look, ideal for enjoying a mug of hot chocolate.

It's a free(ish) pattern - the way I Like Knitting works is, if you're not a member, you get a certain amount of article views a month (at the time of this writing, it's three), if you're a paid member of I Like Knitting then you get unlimited article views.

It's knit in *Knit Picks City Tweed Aran/HW, in "Harbor Seal", on  6mm (US 10) *circular needles

The vest is knit in the round from the bottom up, then split for the armholes and knit flat. The shoulders are shaped with short rows and finished with a three-needle bind off. The collar and armholes are edged with one-by-one ribbing, picked up and knit around the openings, adding a polished finish to this classic piece.

I'm actually really excited about this. I was scared publishing my first garment pattern with a magazine, because, honestly, I wasn't sure about the grading; and it was a skill set that I've struggled with in the past!  But this has turned out so well, and it's wonderful to see a design come to life like this!
