It's WIP Wednesday, and I'm done the main body of the Lace Backpack!   Now, it's time for the top flap!

a lace bag knit in fingering-weight yarn, laying flat. The top of the bag is folded over and is still on the needles.
I've also started hunting for the various findings I need.  To secure the main top flap, I've got a huge, colourful handmade button in my button jar (yes, I have a button jar,  I save all my buttons!), that I think will look amazing with an I-cord loop, while, for the buckles I've found these *Golden Brass Buckles from a supposedly local company that does various bag and jewlery findings.

Yarn is Tanis Fiber Arts PureWash Fingering, in a one-of-a-kind colourway called "Cloudy".  I'm done skein one, which is nice, because alternating skeins while working on the top flap would have probably been visible in the final project.

Needles are my 4mm *Lykke Interchangable needles; and I think the more I've worked with them, the more I've gotten used to the shorter tips.  I have far less trouble now, so maybe it was just practice and familiarity?

I have, however, come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to line this pattern, and I want quite a stiff lining, as the bag itself is more floppy on  it's own then I would like.  So, it's going to be a knitted-in lining for sure, and I've asked Patrons for their input on what stash yarn I should use, so, if you want to have a say, join us over on Patreon!   (Don't worry, I'll film how I  put in the lining so there will be Youtube Tutorials eventually!)

Stay cool out there everyone  and keep crafting!
