Statement Cabled Socks Test-Knit Call!

Alright!  Sample Knitting is done, and the (tentatively titled) Statement Cabled Socks, are now up for testing on Yarnpond!

The Statement Socks are specifically designed to be beautiful heavy socks, perfect for cold winter weather or for participating in winter sports!

Sample is shown in size S (there are four adult sizes, Adult Small to XL) and used approximately 160 yards (146 meters) of yarn. It is shown in some beautiful Finn/Gotland/BFL from All Sorts Acres farm, but, as that's not really a commercially available yarn I'd suggest a Worsted or Aran weight multi-ply wool, or a wool/nylon blend designed for heavy socks (sometimes labeled 'boot socks').

I'm looking for sixteen testers, across all sizes, to test both the charted and written instructions. I'm also specifically looking for testers to test the large-print/screen reader accessible version of this pattern! So if that's something you're willing/able to do, just make a note of that on your Yarnpond application, and I'll send you the link to the large print pattern.

To test, you will need to make a Yarnpond account (you do need to sign up if you haven't before, but, don't worry, it's free, all you need is an e-mail address!)  From there, you can link your Instagram and Ravelry accounts, if you have either. And, for those who can't use Ravelry, please, don't worry, you don't have to have a Ravelry account to participate -- I just need somewhere I can see some examples of your work, so Instagram, or even a blog, is perfect!

Deadline for the test is December 31, 2021, and is a flexible deadline if need be. Testers who complete the test will receive the finished pattern for free, as well as two patterns of their choice from my self-published patterns.

If you want to be notified about future testing calls, I post testing calls here on the blog, and to my other social media platforms (FacebookPatreonInstagram and Twitter), and, I'll send out calls to those on my mailing list, as well, so hopefully, anyone who's interested will see my testing calls.

And if you know someone else who might be interested, please, as always feel free to share this post with them! I don't usually fill my pattern tests, so, the more testers the better!

  1. Unfortunately I have too many projects on the go to offer to test, but these are lovely! I also thought Briggs & Little Tuffy (a worsted wool/nylon nonsuperwash yarn) would be perfect for these!

    1. Oh, totally understand the 'too many projects!' And thank you!

And yes, B & L Tuffy would work very nicely too! (I'm actually a -huge- fan of the Briggs and Little yarns!)
