Welcome back to WIP Wednesday, and the Statement Cabled Boot Socks are on to the second sock!

I keep being amazed  at how fast worsted-weight socks come together, which is a really nice change from fingering/lace weight knits!

And the pattern is easy enough to remember (it's a variant of the cable pattern on my Statement Scarf -- I liked it so much I decided to use it again!), so this has become my Netflix/Podcast/Occasional-Bus -Ride Knitting.

Yarn is from All Sorts Acres Farm, and it's a Finn/Gotland/BFL blend.  It looks a bit scrunched up right now, but it blocks out well, and stretches nicely on the feet.  I err my socks on the side of being a bit too snug -- I'd rather have socks that are a bit too snug then a bit too loose, and these are snug but not too snug -- the cables do pull the yarn in just a touch, but it all works out!

Needles are my inherited 3.25 mm Aero needles, and I am -so- glad for my inherited needle collection.  While there are a few questionable needle choices in there, a few flimsy plastic needles that I don't use nearly as often, most of the needles in there are solid metal workhorse needles, and there's a bunch of 14-inch long straight needles, as well, which is the length of straight needle I actually prefer!

It's really something to know that the needles I'm using on these might be the same needles that my mum made skate socks for me on when I was young.

And the *Silver Rose Stitch Marker continues to mark my beginning/end of round.   Do I need it?  Strictly speaking, no; because I work my cuff-down socks so that the beginning/end of round falls between two needles at the centre bottom of the sole of the sock.  Does it help?  Absolutely!  Without the stitch marker as a visual reminder, my ADHD brain will easily knit an extra row or two where there really shouldn't be an extra row.  The stitch marker serves as an additional reminder that I'm onto the next cable row.

Usually, a finished sock  languishes without a mate for ages in this apartment.   This time, I defeated Second Sock Syndrome, and I call that a win for this week!  What crafting wins have you had this week?   Big, Small, please, share in the comments!
