July Featured Pattern and Knit-Along: Anghymesur Shawl

Well, summer weather is here with a vengeance now!  I  hope everyone is staying as cool and safe as possible!

For me, at least, this level of summer weather means light shawls to keep the sun off my shoulders.   And, I'm happy to say that the Anghymesur Shawl, the July Monthly Featured Pattern, fits that bill perfectly!

Yes, the Anghymesur Shawl is the Featured Pattern for July, available at 50% off (currently $3.00 CAD, regular price, $6.00 CAD)! Use the code JulyFeatPatt2021 at the link below!
A knit lace shawl done in sock-weight yarn. The shawl is an asymmetrical triangle, with a gradient colour progression. The shawl is hanging against an iron fence.

This shawl materialized from the question of ‘what do I do with one skein of Gradient Sock Yarn if I’m not making socks?’

This asymmetrical, triangular shawl is knit flat, using  either a set of long straight needles or circular needles. It  uses a lace pattern, with purled wrong side rows, as well as two stitch cables. The instructions are both charted and  written. The pattern is written for one size, but is easily adjustable to the amount of yarn you have.

The sample was knit using Dragon Strings Phoenix Wings Gradient, which is 75% merino wool, and 25% nylon. If you are substituting yarn, any Merino/Nylon or wool Sock Yarn will work up well. This pattern is designed for single skein gradient/obmbre yarns, but it will work up well in just about any fingering weight yarn.

Note that gauge and yarn weight are both flexible for this pattern, though it will change the appearance and/or size of the finished object. Also, the sample was knit using almost all of the skein of recommended yarn. Please note that if you are a loose knitter, or are enlarging the pattern in any way, you may require an additional skein of recommended yarn.

This pattern has written instructions available as a secondary download, and the stitch pattern is both written and charted. This pattern also has an accessible large print option that is compatible with screen-reading software. This option includes only the written instruction.

You can buy the pattern through Etsy, or Payhip, the discount is available on both platforms. The discount should be be visible on Etsy, To get the discount on Payhip, you can use the coupon code "JulyFeatPatt2021"
