Well, I got squishy mail, so, here's a new project WIP!

The squishy mail (what a wonderful thing to get in the mail!) was from the folks at Bobolink Yarns, who are trying to bridge the gap between local shepherds and local yarn stores in the New England area of the U.S.!   They sent me 3 skeins of their Scuttleship Romney yarn, as yarn support, and I've been noodling around with a pair of crochet fingerless mittens!

Someone wearing the cuff of a crochet mitten. The crochet is a bobbles and lattice pattern done in deep teal fingering-weight yarn. They are holding a crochet hook with a wooden handle, and there is a stitch marker with a rose charm clipped into the work.
Isn't the colour glorious?  It's definitely in my usual colour palette, even if I'm not 100% sure where I will wear these yet.  This is actually mitten number two, I've already finished number one.  Sadly, I don't think this is due to any particular speed at my end, I will say I've been stress-crocheting these while I've been trying to get my computer fixed.  Computer is now fixed, and now I'm working through the back-log of things have happened since then, both in terms of knitting and crochet stuff, and in terms of stuff happening around the world!

Hook is my 3.5 mm (US E) hook from *Leither Co, that I was lucky enough to win on the Marly Bird Podcast!  I did find that doing some of the bobbles with the shorter shaft of the hook was a bit tricky, but nothing I couldn't get over with a touch of caution.

Stitch Marker is one of my *Silver Rose Stitch Markers that I got from *EfficientSense's Etsy Store -- I'm thrilled past me invested in a bunch of locking stitch markers, since you can't use ring markers with crochet!  I hook the marker into the slip-stitch I use to join each round, and it's the perfect way to keep track of which round I'm on!

So, I'll close today with a different question -- what style of stitch marker do you prefer, and what do you use for your stitch markers?

I happen to be a fan of sparkly stitch markers, though, I admit,  when I first started knitting, I followed my mum's lead, and my stitch markers were all just scraps of yarn!  What about you folks?
