Welcome back to WIP Wed! And the Alpine Hat has progressed!  I'm finally past the crown increases and working on the main body of the hat!  The only work I've been able to do on this is some quick work between other projects, and a bit on the transit, so, for the limited time I put in, I'm thrilled at how well and how quickly this is working up!

Someone crocheting around the edge of a crochet hat. The yarn is yellow fingering-weight yarn with flecks of black, and is held with two strands together. The crochet hook is metal with a wooden handle.
Yarn is Wool is the Answer 4-Ply Superwash Merino with Neps in "Mustard", held double! I'm thrilled to have  some leftovers from a previous yarn support request -- this hat takes less then one full skein, which is great!

I'm really enjoying working with it, it's 100 % Merino wool, with Neps (the little black bits), made from Donegal Tweed.   I suspect, however, that this wouldn't make good socks, because of the neps -- they're probably just work their way out of the yarn and shed little bits on something super-hard wearing like a sock.  But for a hat (or, likely a shawl), this yarn would be perfect!

Hook is my 3.5 mm (US E) hook from *Leither Co., (which I won from the Marly Bird Yarn Thing Podcast)!   I admit, I was initially worried about this hook, as I'm very particular about my crochet hooks (or I get hand cramps), but I've been working on this for a bit now, and no hand cramps!  Yeay!

The *Silver Feather Stitch Marker I'm using to mark my rounds (I hook it into the slip-stitch of each round), is from *EfficientSense's Etsy Shop, and it's in crochet that these stitch markers really shine.  You can hook them into the crochet wherever you need them to be, and I haven't lost this one at all!  (I've had other locking stitch markers work loose over time, but not these ones!)

So, that's my weekly progress on my crafting today!  I'd love to see what you folks have made during the week!  Post in the comments and share away!
