Welcome to October and. . . yeah, some folks are reporting the possibility of snow! When did snow become a possibility? No idea, but that's what the weather is saying!
They're knit from the bottom up in the round with light DK-weight yarn and can be knit on dpns or magic loop, or any other method you prefer. The pattern has been test-knit and tech-edited, and is both charted and written. Sample was knit up in the (now discontinued) baa ram ewe Dovestone DK, which is a wonderful blend of British Wools. If you're looking to substitute yarn, any wool or mostly wool blend should work well!
You can buy the pattern through Ravelry or Etsy, the discount is available on both platforms. The discount should be applied automatically on Ravelry, and be visible on Etsy. As always, let me know if something doesn't work!

The mittens are mirrored, with a different left-hand and right-hand mitten. Each mitten has a cable pattern on the back of the hand and a slipped-stitch textured palm. The extra yarn on the palm helps keep the hand warm and provides an additional layer against friction and wear (as well as providing help in making snowballs!)
