Welcome back to WIP Wed!  I've been a bit neglectful in these posts the last few weeks -- I've been knitting frantically on a pair of legwarmers!

Honestly, I should have started these a month ago, since they're slated for a September release, so it's an utter scheduling fail, but, regardless, I'm knitting now!

So, yes these are legwarmers.

A large lace and cables swatch knit in blue-green fingering-weight yarn, knit on a straight needle. There are various stitch markers visible on the needle
They're knit flat on my 3mm Aero Needles (at least, I'm pretty sure they're old Aeros) -- the needles are old enough that they're showing the old Canadian Sizing on them, which always makes me chuckle!   The reason they're knit flat is that they'll be buttoned (or zippered).

Why?  Because I've made myself legwarmers in the past. And my one grumble with them is that they're knit in the round, so, to get them off my leg, I have to take my boots off.  With these?  No such problem!   Also, with this construction, making multiple sizes gets a lot easier!

Yarn is *Dream in Color Smooshy in "Brilliant".  Originally I wasn't sure that it would work well for these (I was worried the busy lace would get lost with the colours of the yarn), but no, it's working out well!  And it's a nice yarn to work with, soft, but not -too- soft.  Hasn't shed or pilled at all, even with a full unraveling.   I may need another skein, depending on how these knit up, but it's a pretty easy yarn to order online, if needs arise.

This particular sample will be button-up, and, since they'll need at least 10 buttons each, I'm going to have to get more buttons.  I've narrowed it down to two options:

The first option is these beautiful *Walnut Buttons from *TheWoodlot (I've bought their buttons before and love them!)  The second option is some gorgeous *Coconut Shell Buttons engraved with leaves.  I've not bought from this Etsy seller yet, but they are very well-reviewed, so I'm willing to see how they are!

Stitch markers are from *WineMakersSister's Etsy Shop -- both the *shell and the *sea glass charms are still in stock last I checked.  I particularly like the sea glass charms, because they're not jump rings, they're actually solid metal rings, so there's no join, however, small, for yarn to snag on, which is great!  The shells are on lobster claws, which make them great for crochet as well as knitting (and no risk of knitting your stitch marker into your work!)

And yes, These legwarmers are as yet unnamed.  If you'd like a chance to name them, I've put that exact question to the Pattern Muses on Patreon!

Alright, I think that's it for this week's post!  I'd love to see what you're working on, so, please, feel free to post links to your projects in the comments, so I can see all the amazing things that you folks make! Also, if you're working on one of my patterns, tag it as #sarahdawnsdesigns so I can find you on Social Media!

Until next week, and Happy Crafting!
