FO Friday: Woodland Mittens (yes, more then one)!

Well,  I finished the Christmas Knitting!  I didn't get the mittens done for the family party, but I did get them done.  I still need to deliver them to my Aunt, (I was hoping to do this over the holidays, but schedules (as always) didn't align.  Plus, I got sick!)

Two cabled mittens laying on top of one another, knit in a pale blue dk-weight yarn.
 So yes, they're actually done!

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, even if I still have yet to home them.

Yarn for these is Jamieson's of Shetland Double Knitting in "Prussian Blue" (top) and "Lagoon" bottom.  Both sets of yarn are from the Barrie Fibre Spirit Festival back in August. I'm really enjoying the Jamieson yarn -- this is the first time I've used it and it's working up quite well!

Needles were my *HiyaHiya 3.5 mm dpns. I worked the mittens actually using only two needles, (and knitting with a third), and it worked out quite well!  Sometimes I get some laddering with that technique, but not this time!

I really enjoyed working on these.  Though I can't submit my own knits into my Knit-Along (well, I could, but I won't -- that just seems mean), I encourage people to check out #sarahdawnsdesignsdecember2018  to see more works in progress of these mittens (and of anyone else who participated in the December KAL!)

I'm thrilled to have these done (the knitting was getting a little frantic towards the end there, so I'm glad to not be worrying about that any more). Though they weren't part of my continuing quest to finish up my bins of WIP's, I'm still thrilled that they're done, and quite happy with how they turned out.

What new projects have you finished up on this first Friday of the new year?  Let me know in the comments!
