Well, welcome back to WIP Wed, where I'm officially continuing the frantic Christmas Knitting.  I'm working on two pairs of Woodland Mittens for my younger cousins, and if you want to see me knitting them live, head on over to Twitch TV and I'll be working on them for my Thursday and Friday streams, so long as I'm not interrupted by the possibility of painters coming in (which is looking very unlikely now).   I have to finish these for a family party at the end of this week, and it's looking like I might have been a bit too ambitious -- I'm working on the thumb of the left-hand mitten, but there's still another pair of mittens to go.  So my Twitch Stream might become a bit more panicked!
The back of the hand of a cabled mitten. The thumb stitches are live and on a dpn. Background is a computer keyboard.

Yarn for these is Jamieson's of Shetland Double Knitting in "Prussian Blue".  I forget the name of the vendor (shameful, I know, but it's not even on the receipt!) but I got it at the Barrie Fibre Spirit Festival back in August. The Jamieson's yarn is new to me, so I got to try it out and see why it's so well recommended.   Over on Ravelry, some folks have mentioned that a lot of the balls have knots --  I only found one knot in my balls so far, which about what I'd usually expect -- and with this yarn, if you do find a knot, it spit-splices so well it's really a non-issue.

Needles are my *HiyaHiya 3.5 mm dpns.  And, just to confuse folks, I'm actually only working on two dpns now, similar to Magic Loop. I find that I can do that with some things like mittens, just split the back of the hand to one needle and the front of the hand to another needle, and I don't end up with too much laddering! I can see why folks would get some laddering, and this only seems to work with things that are a small circumference (like kid's mittens!)

And yes, that's the keyboard of my shiny new (well, Sept 2018) laptop in the background.  It's made my work -so- much easier having a computer that doesn't spontaneously crash!

Well I think that's it for this week's WIP Wed, and thanks for reading along! You can come see me knit these (and the next pair) over on Twitch --  come hang out and see me knit in real time!

As always, I'd love to see what you're working on -- please, feel free to post links to your projects in the comments, so I can see all the amazing things. Also, if you're working on one of my patterns, tag it as #sarahdawnsdesigns so I can find you on Social Media!
