Well, welcome back to WIP Wed! I've officially started my Christmas Knitting!  I'm working on two pairs of Woodland Mittens for my younger cousins, and if you want to see me knitting them live, head on over to Twitch TV and I'll be working on them over my next few streams! I have to finish these for a family party in mid-December, but it's looking like I should be good for timing.

Anyway, I'm done the thumb gusset and about half-way up the hand for the right-hand mitten -- I've been listening/watching a lot of webinars and podcasts recently, and it's the perfect way to pass the time!

A cabled mitten knit in dark blue yarn on a set of dpns. The yarn and mitten are tucked into a wooden yarn bowl, and a golden star stitch marker is clipped into the mitten beside the cable panel.
Yarn for these is Jamieson's of Shetland Double Knitting in "Prussian Blue", which I picked up back at the Barrie Fibre Spirit Festival back in August.   I've never worked with the Jamieson's yarn before, so this was a new experience for me.  I can definitely see why it's recommended for fair-isle. it's got some definitely 'stickiness' to it.   It's less strong then I expected -- I was actually able to break it once by pulling on it.  But it should make some amazing knitted mittens.

Needles are my *HiyaHiya 3.5 mm dpns -- I'm actually only working on two dpns now, similar to Magic Loop.  I find that I can do that with some things like mittens, just split the back of the hand to one needle and the front of the hand to another needle, and I don't end up with too much laddering! When I started the cuff, I had it on three needles, but it just made more sense to have it on only two needles once I got to the split for the front and back of the hand.

The Yarn bowl is from *Natural Knot Wood, and I've been singing the praises of it since I got it. Sadly, Wayne of Natural Knot Wood passed away in July, so the shop will only remain open long enough to deplete the remaining stock.

The stitch marker is a gift from a knitting meetup a few years ago as part of National Novel Writing Month. Though I didn't participate this year, I have done it for several years, and one year, there was a meeting of knitters and writers, with folks giving out stitch markers!

Well I think that's it for this week's WIP Wed, and thanks for reading along! These are my newest project for my Twitch Stream for the time being (and I'll be working on a second pair, as well), so you can come hang out and see me knit in real time, if you'd like!

As always, I'd love to see what you're working on -- please, feel free to post links to your projects in the comments, so I can see all the amazing things. Also, if you're working on one of my patterns, tag it as #sarahdawnsdesigns so I can find you on Social Media!
