Well, with the designer's challenge deadline long gone, I've frogged back the Flower and Leaf Shawl.
Why? Because I wasn't happy with the shaping given by the short-rows. I much prefer the more triangular shawls, and so that's what I'm going to make instead. I (think) I can transplant the same stitch patterns into a triangular shawl; and I'll be far happier with it.
That also makes it far, far, more easier to chart, so now I can make charts for this, too. I don't mind written instruction (and that's how I tend to start working out my patterns), but I do like working from charts, and I know I'm not the only one.
So while yes, this has been frogged back, I'm not giving up on it, and I actually like how the stitch patterns are coming together.
