Privacy Policy

Hello!

So, all of what I do goes through 3rd party services.  Generally, the 3rd party services only collect data that is necessary for them to provide their services.  Each service has it's own privacy policy, and you can find them linked below.  You can also find more information about how I view/store/access data.

E-mail Newsletter:
This is powered by Mailchimp, and you can view their privacy policy here.  Mailchimp stores the data that you provide when you subscribe, and I do have access to it.  I am sent automatic e-mails with this data when someone subscribes or unsubscribes, and I archive those e-mails in my g-mail account (sarahdawnsdesigns@gmail.com) for up to 7 years in case they are required.

Pattern Sales: Ravelry:
My pattern sales are done primarily through Ravelry.com, and you can find their privacy policy here.   Upon purchase of a pattern, I receive an e-mail with Ravelry username and e-mail. I archive those e-mails in my g-mail account for up to 7 years in case they are required. (sarahdawnsdesigns@gmail.com)

Etsy:
I operate an Etsy Store through Etsy.com, and you can view their policy here.  I do have access to customer data on Etsy, and I use that data for the purposes of fulfilling orders, taxes and finances, legal requirements, and other business purposes.  I do not download any customer data from Etsy to my computer.  I will submit customer data as necessary to Canada Post for shipping purposes, (name, mailing address, etc).  I do receive e-mails from Etsy when a sale is made with some customer data, I archive those e-mails in my g-mail account for up to 7 years in case they are required. Payments and Transactions:
Online transactions are processed through PayPal.com, and you can find their privacy policy here.  Currently I do not receive e-mail notification of payments from PayPal from Ravelry purchases.  I do archive e-mail notification of Paypal Payments in my G-mail account (sarahdawnsdesigns@gmail.com) for up to 7 years in case they are required.  I do not download any customer data for accounting or finance purposes, only sales data.

Blog Privacy Policy:
This blog is hosted through Blogger, (which is part of Google), and you can find the privacy policy here.  I do not share personal information obtained from this blog.  The only information I have access to on Blogger is aggregate analytic information Google Analytics, and I only use it to analyze the performance of posts and to improve the delivery of my content.   I do receive an e-mail for each comment posted on this blog, with data on who commented.  These are also archived in my g-mail account (sarahdawnsdesigns@gmail.com), for up to 7 years, in case they are required.  The blog does use cookies to identify visitors, you may remove those cookies by following the instructions for your browser.

Patreon:
I do use Patreon as a third-party service, and you can view their privacy policy here.  I do receive automatic e-mails from Patreon when someone becomes a Patron or stops pledging, and those e-mails are archived in my g-mail account (sarahdawnsdesigns@gmail.com) for up to 7 years or as required.   I do not download any personal data from Patreon, though I have access to some of the data that Patreon collects.  I may use the e-mail address associated with a Patron to contact them regarding Patron Rewards or issues with their Patronage, as needed.

Direct E-mail:
When you contact me by e-mail, that e-mail will never be re-distributed and is not stored on my computer. I store those e-mails in my g-mail account, so that I can use the information provided for the purposes of running and improving my business.  These e-mails are never shared, resold, or added to any mailing lists.

Test-Knitting/Test-Crocheting:

I maintain a list of my of my test-knitters and crocheters on Google Drive, (which is part of Google Cloud and Privacy Shield Certified), but the only personal data stored is your Ravelry Username.  If you do not want your Ravelry username stored on this document, then you can contact me to have your username removed from my list of test-knitters and crocheters.   Those names will only be used through the Ravelry message system to contact people who have signed up to be notified of testing calls.

I do use affiliate links on my blog, and other locations, and you may find their privacy policies here, here, and here.  While I have limited access to customer data, depending on what the service collects and makes visible to me, I do not download any of it. The only information I record is the sales data.
All of my affiliate links are marked with an asterisk(*) and place a cookie on your computer after clicking the link. You can remove these cookies by following the instructions for your browser.

Third Party Data Transfer:
If I am transferring customer data, it is usually done through services within Google Cloud, which is Privacy Shield Certified.
